Unknown crash occoured with KIS, this happened after I had exit KIS from the tray, and then shut down my VM forcefully (not because KIS hang), then after I powered on my VM, I found these dumps, which can be downloaded from the Kaspersky FTP Server. Dumps can be found on: Kaspersky FTP Server AlertRKAV.11.0.1.377_06.18_11.43_1928.GUI.full_alertr.rar // Add to BT - 99297 Windows 7 32 bit, KIS 11.0.0.379 RU Application Verifier disabled. After I disabled traces, I received notice that KIS crashed when I exited the program via right click tray Icon. I saw that no dumps were created. Same thing a few minutes later, Exit and receive crash notice. Again no dumps were created. Few minutes after that, I checked again, and there were the dumps. Full, tiny and mini attached: Click to view attachment // Add to BT - 99386 B377 Windows XP 1. Traces disabled. Boot up PC, received notice KIS crashed. Full, tiny and mini dumps attached. // Dump server said - Could not open dump file, Cannot parse dump I think it's crash the same crash on exit (please recheck on next build) I keep receiving application crashes on every start up. It reports it on every start-up and uploads to Kaspersky site. Here is one that was uploaded but I wanted to post it here with my information. ftp://data4.kaspersky-labs.com/sullysnet/...88.SRV.full.rar Windows 7 x64 - CF1 384 - KIS Outlook 2010 freeze on new build trying to open a message with only text in the body. Stopped KIS and Outlook was working again. Logs here - ftp://data4.kaspersky-labs.com/sullysnet/...outlook2010.rar Windows 7 x64 - CF1 384 - Outlook 2010 // Can you add dump Outlook.exe when it freeze? In the rar there should be the Outlook log file, if that is what you mean by the dump. It was not an Outlook crash, only Outlook 2010 freezing when opening email. Close KIS and email could be viewed and closed. If that is not what you mean could you point me to what I need to do to get the dump. thanks more app crashing, there are a TON of app crashing dumps in my log folder and every time I stop and start I have an app crash. This time I stopped KIS because I thought it was making the Win7 image view hang and when I tried to restart it, it failed to restart all components. Even when I clicked enable on the warning nothing happened. Logs ftp://data4.kaspersky-labs.com/sullysnet/logs.rar // Already in BT - 99386 found a pretty major bug, at least on my system it is major and I need others to test it for me as well. I cannot open image files with Windows Photo Viewer with build 384 installed. It hangs the viewer and shows it loading but never opens. It also hangs the machine and I need to do a hard reset. I know it is not the nvidia drivers that I updated to around the same time as this build. I have already verified this by moving back a version and testing without KIS installed. I am going to try to get dumps like I had planned to do with Outlook. I think this one is worst than Outlook since I am forced to hit reset. Can someone else try opening images with the build in viewer? Windows 7 x64 Nvidia card with either the latest drivers or previous versions. I have dumps now to the dllhost.exe which launches the Windows Photo Viewer. I know it is this process because my current temp work around is to exclude all for dllhost.exe 3 sets of dumps and I will be pretty pissed if nothing comes of these dumps because I spent over an hour rebooting this machine hard reset and normal reboot. ftp://data4.kaspersky-labs.com/sullysnet/...hoto-viewer.rar Used Windbg to get these dumps using the command above. This bug I can recreate over and over again but at the cost of hard reset which again I do not favor. Between the update bug making me reset and this bug I have hard reset my machine close to 25 plus times (not good) found a pretty major bug, at least on my system it is major and I need others to test it for me as well. Thanks for your dumps. Do you have same problems without App Ver? I have not tested that but I can test that if you like? I will test that before I install the new build thanks just tested and it is the same issue with it remove and with it enabled. It is locked up right now and I will have to reset. Build 11.0.1.387 on Windows 7 x64 The service of KIS crashed and the GUI hung for a while while I was playing around with the sample Trojan.Win32.Jorik.Tibs.f I've uploaded dumps and tracelogs to the FTP into my user folder ("dumpsandtraces.7z"). I tested both on a virtual and a real system. It was reproducible. // 100140 fixed in 11.0.1.388 The GUI of KIS started to hang when I opened the options for a huge exe in the KIS HIPS while it was analyzing it (dunno what it did exactly). The hang didn't stop and Windows asked me to kill the GUI process. The HIPS protection was gone, KIS permitted everything. This problem is reproducible. I've uploaded traces and a dump of the GUI which I created with the Taskmanager (self defense off): "GUIhang.7z" can be found in my user folder on the FTP. Tested with 400 RC on 7 x64. Need more info (check PM please) Now this gets interesting... I was able to replicate this issue with a small set of wallpapers, it sometimes happens at the first time, some other times it requires you to re open the image in the Windows Photo Viewer, this sometimes happens when you reach the last image and click on next, it should show the first image in the folder but that's one of the crash conditions. Another is when you close the window. It's a pretty random issue, but it's there, I managed to get traces from a couple of times it happened: Click to view attachment Also it never happens when KIS is unloaded. I've been trying pretty much everything to work around this problem and it seems that the culprit is either Proactive Defense or Application Control. Why? Because adding the COM Surrogate (dllhost.exe) to exclusions with 'Do not monitor application activity' checked does fix the problem. Click to view attachment Click to view attachment This isn't a proper fix since you are disabling part of the protection and monitoring in an component that is part of Windows. I hope this issue gets looked on before calling CF1 final, it would be a shame that a problem of this severity gets into a public release. Apologies for possibly posting inappropriately... There is an issue with KIS2010 and Battlefield Bad Company 2, described by EA here This apparently is due to some aggressive ICMP activity being misinterpreted as malicious by Kaspersky. Even exiting KIS2010 does not fix the issue: only a complete uninstall. Has consideration been given to this in the RC? // Add to BT - 100922 KIS 2011 CF1 Build 11.0.1.400 --- Windows 7 64bit Component: Unknown crash I know that in a previous version crash reports in startup were often and we shouldn't report it but in this version it happened today. I powered on my pc and i saw an application launch crash. Kaspersky created only tiny dump file! I upload it in case you find anything useful. Click to view attachment //100831, already in BT Scenario: Uninstalled KIS2011 (11.0.0.232), saving ONLY Activation data. Restarted computer and installed KIS2011 CF1 (11.0.1.400). Performed an update and restarted the computer. Ammend KIS's Settings to my preference. Run some Custom scans of folders to build up iSwift/iChecker databases (cant do full MyComputer scan due to a slow scanning bug devs are aware of). [All is working fine till now...] Restarted the computer after all custom scans were finished. [After this point I got the issues] 1. Computer did not shut down (freezes) and I had to manually power it down whenever I wanted to shut down. 2. When computer started up, KIS took a long time to appear in the taskbar and keept crashing - shutting itself down and starting itself up again, and during this time, the computer was running really slow with avp.exe taking 99% CPU most the time. When KIS kept throwing up an error about previous application crash and wanting to send dumps, but it only says "preparing ##%". It goes up-to 99% prepared and then crashes again. Microsoft keeps wanting to send error report to its servers from avp.exe. Also get the following alert from Microsoft at times: Click to view attachment Error kept reproducing until I uninstalled Kaspersky. Installed it again and running fine so far. Will report if it reappears again. Trace500 logs and dumps Kaspersky tried to submit to itself (but could not manage) uploaded to /dawgg/KIS11.0.1.400/Crash_and_restart_loop/trace500_and_dumps.zip Dumps MS wanted to send its servers: /dawgg/KIS11.0.1.400/Crash_and_restart_loop/MS_dumps.zip KIS 11.0.1.400, WinXP Pro SP3 Windows Photo Viewer hangs after opening/scrolling through several images, the whole OS freezes afterwards (just like the old Update freeze bug). Hey, I also have this problem with Windows Vista Business SP1 32bit ! I installed KIS 2011(11.0.1.400) yesterday the first time and Vista was freezing two times because of this bug. After watching some images with the Windows own Viewer the application freezed. Then Windows asked me to terminate it. Through the termination also the open Explorer Windows was closed. A few seconds later the whole system (except the mouse) freezed and I had to push the power button. For like a month my PC hanags with no warning or anything, with no reason at all. Sometimes it hangs during the video playback or even a game and the audio continues to play. I was looking for the problem all this time and had no luck with it till a few days ago: it's avp.exe. I'm using 11.0.1.400 and every time my PC freezes and needs reboot, I can see in the logs this error (sorry, but it's in Russian, but I guess, it won't be a problem): 9f22838b-9833-11df-9013-00116b600888 I've read over Internet, that such errors may indicate RAM problems. I've ran memtest for like 5 hours (maybe more) - no results. Though I have 8 Gb of RAM and I know that testing it with memtest is almost useless due to the capaity. Still, if it's possible to somehow test, if it's really an avp.exe bug - that would be great. And I think it is a bug - otherwise why all the errors iof this kind have avp.exe in them... And not only 11.0.1.400, but older version, too. TIA.
